The one-day course instructs participants on how to draw blood via venipuncture and capillary puncture as well as the practices and procedures necessary in obtaining adequate and correct blood specimens.
Workshops include required practice on drawing blood on mannequins and an optional opportunity to draw blood on fellow participants. The PRP portion of the lecture will review the steps necessary to separate plateletrich and platelet-poor blood and how to use blood-separating centrifuge equipment while maximizing patient and workspace safety.
